The guy comes at 1:30pm, and I try to look over his shoulder to get him to work faster. (Not sure if that works, but whatever). French internet technicians are really put together--not the creepers that we know in the US. This gy was a nice, fatherly man, and was very put together and professional. No computer geeks that don't leave their rooms here. The other thing is, he told us we have to have a French bank account to pay him by check or credit card. The e-mail said he would take cash, but apparently not. So Liz and I call our repairman, who fixed our hot water, etc, and ask him to borrow his credit card. Thankfully he agrees, and we dash out of our apartment at 2:25pm.
We make a billion calls to NYU people to ask them to hold the boat for us, and thankfully we make it just as they are boarding the boat at 2:45pm! We literally SPRINTED down the street to the metro, looking like crazy people. But we were so happy to make it. I would have been so bummed to miss a free sightseeing tour of gorgeous Paris!
So happy to have made the Metro and make it in time!
So the boat cruise was basically amazing...the Seine passes through all the major sites in Paris, and the light was so beautiful today.
Look at that SKY!
Anyways, after that we went to Berthillon, the best gelato in the world. Seriously. I got chocolate and coffee, and I seriously died. Especially the chocolate--not to sweet, just literally chocolate melting in your mouth.
Then Anne and I went shopping in Passy for a bit, and I got a dress. Prob gonna wear it tomorrow night. Then I came home, bought some groceries, and cooked myself a lovely dinner. The vegetables are so cheap and so fresh here, it's amazing. And the cheese. Pretty sure all of it's raw. I wanted to bake my chicken and vegetables, but I can't figure out how to use the oven, only the stove. They're both gas, and I have no idea where the gas comes out in the oven. I don't want to put a match in there and have it explode in my face...So I just threw everything in a skillet, and it turned out decently.
Planning to go out with Ali soon, but we'll see...I'm getting kind of tired.
