STILL don’t have internet in my apartment. It’s driving me crazy. Basically it’s a lot of back and forth between us and our landlord. She keeps calling Orange, the company, from her NY apartment and is convinced that the internet account is open. We proceed to call Orange here and they tell us that they account is closed. Etc, etc. She’s crazy.
But except for that, the apartment is great now. I love it.
The kitchen:
It was rainy for the last couple days…so blah. Made me feel so sleepy. But the sky when it started to clear up was gorgeous.
Last night, Anne and I decided to go out to Queen. (Thank god I don’t have any real homework yet, I somehow got placed in the second highest level but also the level with the least work? Doesn’t make sense to me, but I’m not complaining.) Anyways, we pregamed with a cheap bottle of champagne, which left me a slight headache this morning…oh well.
We took a cab to Queen because we were wearing very little clothing and were kind of creeped out by the metro. Queen is supposed to be one of those super-happening places that everyone must go to or whatever. It’s pretty famous, it’s on the Champs Elysee. A girl in my French class went there already, and said she loveddd it and was so jealous that I was gonna go. We get there and they turn away the girls before us, but we get in! Ha. But once inside, we discover it’s completely empty (at 11:45pm). It slowly fills up by like 12:15, but EVERYONE is speaking English. It just felt sooo touristy. It’s a gay club, but Wednesday is Ladies’ Night, so we didn’t have to pay a cover. And there were straight guys, because they knew there would be girls haha. But it was a lot of American girls. We talked to some Australian guys for a while, split a 15 euro drink, danced for a bit, and then called it a night. It was really not what I expected after how much it had been talked up.
The SUN is out. Finally. I’m writing this in bed, and I guess I’ll post it when I get to campus…I am going to kill myself if the internet still isn’t working when I actually have real homework.
I also feel like I’m getting fat…I want to try to go to Bikram tonight. But we’ll see, every night I come home SO exhausted.
